The capital of the Ardennes is located at an altitude of 320-500m and is made up of two different towns: "Wiltz Haut" and "Wiltz Bas".

Beer museum and beer tasting
Have you ever wondered how beer is made? Now you can find out at the Beer Museum in Wiltz Castle. Includes a beer tasting.
The Castle of the Counts of Wiltz dating from the Renaissance period
The manor house of the former lords of Wiltz was located in the lower town at the site of the present decanal church.
As this castle could no longer withstand the constant attacks of the enemy during the Norman invasion, the Lords of Wiltz built another fortified castle towards the end of the 12th century at the eastern end of a strip of rock that rises steeply on the banks of the River Wiltz. In the 14th century, the fortifications were demolished and a new, larger enclosure was built.
In 1388, the castle was destroyed by the soldiers of the King of France during an expedition against the Duchy of Juliers.
At the beginning of the 15th century, the town and the castle were burnt down by the Count of Nassau. In 1453, barely out of its ruins, Wiltz was destroyed again under Philip of Burgundy by de Croy, governor of Luxembourg.
On 23 May 1631, John VI of Wiltz had a new castle built at the same site. Of the original castle, only the old witch tower and the square tower, which is included in the north-western buildings, remain. This tower once housed the main entrance which could be reached by a drawbridge.
Stroll and get lost in the magnificent alleys, discover the plantations, the terracing, the water bodies, the sculptures, which form a living work of art on 2.5 ha. This work of art has been created with the help of craftsmen, artists, and local associations of the handicapped.
The Natural Park of the Haute-Sûre with its 380 hectare lake
Located in the north-west of Luxembourg, the Haute-Sûre nature park is marked by its 380 ha artificial lake, the largest drinking water reservoir in the country. This region is also known as the "water zone" of Luxembourg, and the reservoir provides the framework for the development of sustainable tourism and leisure activities.
The steep, wooded slopes, which often go all the way down to the shore, create a natural and unspoiled landscape - a great invitation to relax!
A multitude of hiking trails and thematic routes allow visitors to discover interesting aspects of the region's nature, culture and history.

Brasserie Simon is one of the last independent breweries in the country and is located only 150m from our hotel! Their website: brasseriesimon.lu
The Château de Wiltz houses the MICROBRASSERIE which operates with the technical support of the Brasserie Simon. It is one of the smallest breweries in the world and serves as didactic support for seminars organized for companies or groups of friends. Not only does it give an overview of the different production cycles - from the crushing of the grains, through brewing and fermentation to storage - but it can also produce up to 50 liters of beer, depending on the brewer's taste. Discover the art of microbrewing: a seminar will introduce you to the brewing techniques in a single day.
